All About Me... Isn't It?
I am originally from New York, let’s get that out in the open right away as some of my readers may relate to, and some may resent that fact, depending on my driving, accent and volume of my voice. I have been living in our fair city since 2000; I am married to a guy I really, really like (just kidding he is actually the love of my life); and we have two perfect children…perfect because they are 9 and 5 and still love their mommy and just want to please her. They are also the reason why I decided to create Minivan Madness.
Background Stuff: B.S. Journalism, copywriter for several ad agencies and one publisher in NYC, copywriter for agency in Ft. Lauderdale; (career change coming) professional recruiter; and most recently before launching Minivan Madness, I was back to copywriting, this time for websites.
Personal Stuff: I play Mah Jong (shout out to my lovely ladies of the Tuesday night mahj); my husband rides a Harley, which by relation makes me cool; I try to embarrass my boys whenever I can, in public of course; and I talk to my Mom everyday which my husband thinks is excessive but I find completely normal. Oh, and I’m in my forties…which is as specific as I’ll get.
Why I’m Here Stuff: I saw a need to have a really comprehensive online resource guide for people like me, who wanted to do stuff with their kids, as well as having them involved in all different types of programs; from art to dance, sports to technology, etc. And, I wanted to have it all wrapped up in one neat little site so I could easily navigate what was available and when.
Like all ideas that start off simple, they tend to take on a life of their own. The more digging I did the more stuff I came up with, more categories, more listings, it was maddening! But honestly, I love doing it. I can’t believe how much there is to do, just in Boca. Granted, not every day brings endless choices, but there is plenty to keep my kids, and us as a family, busy. So dig in, see what’s up, enjoy the site, and most of all Embrace the Madness.
Oh, and by the way, if you see me at Publix feel free to say hi and give me your feedback. I’m very approachable.
